Again happy to say we love our feature by “The Wedding Chicks“!  Thanks guys! Also of course, a super special thanks to Su and Bechien for sharing memories and allow us to become a part of their big day.

We are proud to say an image of Elizabeth was featured on the ever stylish The Wedding Chicks blog as part of a vintage themed inspire guide.  Check’em out! Link to guide here

What more can we say than holy —— we love this album and the company!!  We made it a priority to get new sample albums for our future 2011 brides and we are so pleased to say we managed to pull things off EARLY!  This means that we will have new options for our 2010 couples!  This album is a thing of beauty, craftsmanship top notch and so so so customizable for each bride.  Not to mention we feel it fits seamlessly with our approach to laying out an album to showcase the story as well as the art of the big celebration!  High resolution (clear) images will make their way into our website eventually (and dare I drop the sneak hint about Avenna’s own magazine in development…what what!)…anyways, more to come but hope these iPhone grabs will do for now.

OK…so we are ridiculously pumped to finally air this beast!  We think it presents a quick easy overview of our personality, approach, style and ART that is just plainly….US!   It will serve as our ‘welcome’ video for our clients on our website that introduces ourselves and our approach to capturing the story of a wedding day while creating works of art.  Please please please don’t be shy if you like (or dislike) what you see and drop us a comment below with your thoughts.

This video owes EVERYTHING to our long time friend (and many a time cohort) Jaro Savol (yes of “THE STUDIO” by Jim Garner..which is a hilarious spoof of the office photography style and a must watch!)…and Gene Higa, Catherine Hall notoriety….AND, if you need further proof of Jaro’s skills…check this below as this was his personal project and nonprofit he started (Nations Foundation)!

If you really really love what you are seeing, and desperate to see it larger or a little more clearly…the link below will put you directly into the video on our main website!  So killer! (it may a second to load depending upon your internet connection)

There is an amazing new blog developing in the Boston area called BeantownBride (http://www.beantownbride.com) with local tips and resources for Boston brides, or for out of state brides looking at hosting their wedding in the Boston area.  We were lucky enough to be interviewed by Brittany and the team behind this resource regarding our engagement sessions…and now…one of our wedding has been featured!  Nga and Vinh were a blast to work with and their wedding (which took place up in Salem for the ceremony and at the Seaport hotel in Boston for the reception) and we can’t thank them enough.  You can read more about their wedding on Beantown bride…or if you can read the screen capture below go for it…just don’t strain your eyes too much.

We were blown away when Brittany let us know her plans about her new venture for wedding couples around the Boston/MA area!  Beantown Bride is sure to become a hub of information and resources for the “in the know” bride planning her elegant wedding…and we were super honored when she approached us about shedding some insight into what an engagement session is all about and our approach to capture one with our couples.  Below is a quick screen shot of the interview, but I suggest to click your way over to http://www.beantownbride.com and see what all the fuss is about.  They just went live this week and I know there is more fun in store (possibly even a featured wedding by us!).

Studio Update

October 31, 2009

Just thought it would be fun to quickly share a sneak at our new website, set to go live soon!  Super excited and are loving the massive images that will truly display the art.  In the meantime, working away on Album design and will share some spreads soon as we just sent Tracie and Kelly their proof (they live in Alaska and couldn’t join us for a studio viewing session this time!).  Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

The above is the opening loading page (don’t worry, I promise it is centered!  I am just clearly bad at using a screen capture tool!)

…and below is one image from a rotating gallery that loads upon visiting

Well, it is busy busy around here are we are up to our necks in weddings and smack dab in the middle of relocating our studio!  Brilliant planning to have our lease end in the middle of wedding season…but what were the chances the landlord would find a buyer :)   haha.  We just noticed we hadn’t posted anything in a bit and wanted to say we are still around and despite being somewhat homeless until we move into our new place (in Watertown) in September we have some really fun stuff to share!  Things awaiting blog posting really soon are Traci and Kelly’s intimate Alaskan wedding, Lee and Coleen’s Glacier bridal shoot and Alaskan Engagement session, a beautiful (and massive) Seaport wedding with Nga and Vinny, and we leave in the morning for a vintage themed wedding in California (where our good friend Jaro from Lumiere bridal videography will be filming a welcome video for our studio!).  We are super excited and as always so honored to meet and experience life with such amazing people.

In the meantime here are two snaps from part of our Alaskan adventure…the first is a pano (horribly small when sized for web) of where Vince and I pitched our tent on an outcropping on top of a ridge.  So spectacular! The second is our family slightly distraught after the two planes that dropped us into the middle of nowhere flew by and dropped a note saying they couldn’t land to get us… and would have to wait until better weather! haha

Our New Blog

April 29, 2009

Exciting times for us here at Avenna!  We are pleased to finally release our new Blog.  Finally a blog design that we love!  It was always so hard to get ourselves to be active bloggers when we knew that we would be updating/changing our blog in the near future.  Well, we are now really excited to come full circle with our web 2.0 presence and hope that we will grow to become a resource of creativity and inspiration for our clients and industry friends.  We look forward to seeing where our new journal will take us, so drop us a line if you like what you see or have any questions.  Let’s get our Blog on!  Check us out on Twitter if you like Twitting, or fan us on Facebook to connect and so we know you exist as well.  More importantly please leave us a comment or send us a message with harsh critic or ideas about how to improve our look or layout!  Thanks everyone.

PS: link here to our old blog to see past posts.
